New Season Trends: Velvet, Metallic, Tartan & Animal Print

Summer is well and truly over, meaning you have a new excuse to go shopping again. With Paris Fashion Week underway, people will be rushing to the stores to pick up the latest catwalk trends for the Autumn/Winter months, but here’s a little head start for you all. I’ve listed the hottest four below and you can get them all from Zara, River Island, Topshop & New Look!!

Don’t be afraid of the fierce prints, they won’t bite. Be daring and pair different prints together, who said you can’t mix and match? Or, if you prefer a more subtle look, try pairing them with some pastel tones. I was never one for animal print, but I’m really liking the pieces I’m seeing lately.

We’re going back to the ’80s, but not as you know them. These pieces will breathe fresh fashion into your entire wardrobe and take you downtown like a little fashionista. Try layering them up too to give yourself that extra piece of edge. I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of the metallic look, I love all things that shimmer and shine!!

The velvet trend is one we can all live with. Glamorous, soft and comfortable, who can say no to it? I recently bought some of the items pictured below from Zara and oh my god – I need  more! Say goodbye to the tight bodycon dresses, it’s all about the flow now. Velvet is legit one of the most comfortable materials I’ve ever worn on a night out and the days of feeling sewn into an outfit are gone!

Like animal print, I’ve never been one for the tartan look, but that’s all changed. It’s a  pattern that can  finish off any look and give you that pop of colour that you’re missing. If you’re not up for going head-to-toe tartan, try pairing it with a chunky knit or a leather jacket, you can’t go wrong.
