Review: Toni & Guy Casual Rough Texturiser

When it comes to nights out on the town, we all like to add a bit of volume to our hair. Having flat hair and looking like a ‘gel brain’ as my friends and I used to call it, is simply out of the question. However, a bottle of hairspray and a backcombing brush later, and our hair can easily be mistaken for a bird’s nest – not to mention the amount of damage it causes to our once luscious locks.

Between the pain from the knots the next morning and the amount of effort it requires to brush the backcomb out, I knew I couldn’t keep putting my hair through this torture. That’s when I stumbled across this little beauty – The Toni & Guy Casual Rough Texturiser.

Truth be told, I actually came across this by pure chance. I was in the queue in Boots beside the shelf with all the reduced items and saw it. It was on sale for like €2 so I threw it in with the rest of the stuff I was buying, not really knowing at the time what it was for.

Fortunately, it turned out to be amazing. I just section the top few bits either side of my hair line, spray a bit of this on and backcomb it slightly just to make sure the volume lasts me the whole night. Not only does it last, but it gives a much more natural volumised look. It’s easy to brush out and doesn’t leave clumps of hard hair like hairspray does. I love this stuff and would definitely recommend it. If you think you’d like this, then you can pick it up for less than a tenner here.

Tip: When drying your hair, flip your head upside down. This will also lift your roots and create more volume.
